A Prospective Behavioral Economic Analysis of Alternative Sources of Reinforcement for Hazardous Alcohol Use
Sarah Weinsztok, Ph.D. from KU Lawrence,particpated as a scholar in the TL1 Postdoctoral program. Her research project titled "A Prospective Behavioral Economic Analysis of Alternative Sources of Reinforcement for Hazardous Alcohol Use" was conducted in the Cofrin Logan Center for Addiction Research and Treatment Department under the guidance of Michael Amlung, Ph.D. This project commenced on July 1, 2023, and concluded on June 30, 2024.
Weinsztok received intensive mentorship on prospective, intensive longitudinal designs, significantly shaping her TL1 study. She presented her research at national conferences and local showcases, enhancing her visibility and professional network. This training was pivotal in developing her independence as a researcher, culminating in a publication in Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology on adapting commodity purchase tasks to identify substitutable substance-free alternative activities for alcohol use.
