What is Translational Research?
Translational Science is the discipline of turning observations in the laboratory, clinic and community into interventions that improve the health of individuals and populations - from diagnostics to therapeutics, to medical procedures and observational behaviors.

Frontiers Advisory Structure
Frontiers accelerates research and increases collaboration across Kansas and western Missouri, in addition to the region. It is guided by advisory councils that include research leaders from affiliated institutions and health systems and national CTSA leaders.
Operations Group
The Operations Group is the primary decision-making body for Frontiers CTSI with all Frontiers partners represented. The group is composed of the leadership of each Core and Administrative Core personnel. It is responsible for managing intra- and inter-Core use, interaction, and performance with attention to evaluation and ideas for continuous improvement.
External Advisory Committee (EAC)
The Frontiers External Advisory Committee (EAC), which is comprised of clinical and translational science experts from across the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Consortium, provides advice on the direction of Frontiers, addresses issues of concern and suggests strategies to assist Frontiers in accomplishing its vision and objectives. The EAC meets annually to provide guidance based on their experience in leadership roles at other CTSA hubs.

Stakeholder Advisory Council (SAC)
The Stakeholder Advisory Council (SAC) will help Frontiers achieve its mission by guiding Frontiers’ direction and policies, sharing updates on institution specific Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) priorities and achievements, and creating joint accountability for Frontiers’ sustainability and CTR efforts across partner institutions.
