Precision Functional Mapping in Disorders of Consciousness
Abid Qureshi, M.D. from the University of Kansas Medical Center (Kansas City), is currently participating as a scholar in the KL2 program. His research project titled "Precision Functional Mapping in Disorders of Consciousness" is being conducted in the Neurology Department under the guidance of Robert Stevens, M.D. This project commenced on July 1, 2023, and is set to conclude on June 30, 2025.
The project has IRB approval and Qureshi has made significant progress in addressing challenges with MRI scanner implementation, including software installation and sequence testing. He has authored and submitted a book chapter on "The Neuroscience of Coma" and re-submitted a manuscript on thrombectomy decision-making for acute ischemic strokes, with another manuscript on hyperdense straight sinus and endovascular therapy also submitted, all as first author.
