Innovations in Quality Forum: Opportunities and Challenges in Rural Health

Date/Time: Nov 21, 2024, 03:00 PM to Nov 21, 2024, 04:00 PM

Location: In-person and Virtual

People living in rural areas of the United States face numerous health-related challenges. Rural areas notoriously have fewer healthcare providers, medical facilities and transportation options. Rural residents have higher rates of chronic health conditions such diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and environmental hazards, while also being less likely to have health insurance. And then there is maternal health; rural birthing people face low and declining access to complete obstetric care. While rural life can be romanticized as an earthy, less complicated lifestyle, it is anything but for the vast rural majority.  For these reasons and many others, this IQ Forum will hear from experts working to educate and improvehealthcare for our U.S. rural populations.
