DESCRIPTION:By definition, Clinical and Translational Research is team science. Moving discoveries from the bench to the clinic to the community requires collaboration across disciplinary, career stage, and institutional boundaries. While team science has many benefits, including the ability to address more complex questions, there are also challenges in coordinating people and tasks across those boundaries. Join Betsy Rolland, Ph.D., MLIS, MPH as she presents team science best practices that CTR leaders can implement to mitigate some of the challenges and discusses the benefits of Collaboration Planning, an intervention developed at the University of Wisconsin’s CTSA and now being implemented in Frontiers. With a minimal investment of time and effort, Collaboration Planning can help teams design a more deliberate approach to their collaborative work that results in lower levels of conflict and greater scientific progress.
