LOCATION:University of Kansas Medical Center in the Health Education Building, Room 205
DESCRIPTION:What is Adult Mental Health First-Aid? Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training program to teach participants how to support adults in various mental health challenges, crises, and worsening situations.

What will you learn? You will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of different mental health challenges, such as anxiety attacks, suicidal ideation, and borderline personality disorder. It's important to note that MFHA does not cover how to diagnose or treat mental health or substance use challenges.

What will you receive? Upon completing the training, you will receive a 3-year certificate and gain specific tools and strategies for taking the first steps to provide safety for all individuals in challenging situations.

Will food be available? Yes, breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.

Please note that the training is limited to 30 people, and you must attend the entire class to receive the certificate. This opportunity is open to everyone, so feel free to share it with your network.
